Morning Glory Week Two

1.   Saint Thomas Aquinas says all creation is in a circular motion from God and back to God.
Have you experienced this movement in miniature in your prayer and spiritual life? What
is usually the precursor of your feeling distant from God and then returning to him? What
do you ask of Mary to help you become closer to God for longer periods or more frequently?   (see CCC, nn. 2742-2745)
2.   Love and trust are always partners. Learning to love the Immaculata takes a great deal
of trust, which involves dependence on her intercession, letting ourselves be led by her,
accepting her direction, speaking our prayers to her directly from our hearts. What
experiences with trust, becoming dependent on someone and taking direction from
him or her, have you had in the past? Do you look forward to these experiences of
dependence on Mary?

1. I experienced this movement away from and back to God in a big way during my college years. When I rediscovered my faith, I found Jesus waiting for me, not with disapproval, but with grace that set my heart of fire for Him.It reminds me of Peter's denial and the apostles scattering when He was arrested in the garden. When He came to them after His resurrection, His first words were "Peace be with you", not why did you do that? He doesn't mention their mistakes or moments of fear, but instead empowers them with His peace and immediately commissions them with the power to forgive sin. He has so much trust and confidence in us, but we struggle to trust Him. No wonder He says, "oh you of little faith."
2.During my marriage, I trusted my husband completely, without reservation. I instinctively knew his love was deep and sure, and because of that, would never act without my best interest in mind. Since I had the opportunity to make this consecration to Mary shortly after he died, it was as if Mary was there to tell me that She was there for me, that I could depend on Her. just like I depended on my husband. And it happened that She did help me in a big way with huge decisions that I had to make during that time. I was, and am, totally cared for, by this most tender Mother.
